Our little Bella has crossed the rainbow bridge.

We are heartbroken. No-one knows her true age but the vet believes she was about 16 years old.

She had such a horrible start to her life being abused in a puppy farm and forced to have litter after litter.

Her foster Mum, @kaystarr6042 from @dog_rescue_newcastle nursed her back to health and cared for her after having her prolapsed uterus fixed and all of her teeth removed. She barely had any fur.

Darren and I took over and loved her until her fur grew back and she felt safe again.

We gave her an alternate backstory of being a respected madam in a Kings Cross brothel who regaled everyone with the stories of what she had seen.

She needed her eye removed this year which simply added to her character.

She loved running on the beach and would give happy “bop bop” barks. Even without teeth she devoured fish and chicken and would eat dry puppy food by throwing it back like a pill. She was a survivor.

She was fiercely loyal would defend our home with all her might Xena Princess Warrior style.

We thought she had mammary cancer but the surgery showed they were just fatty deposits (only our dog would fake cancer to get free lipo) She had a heart murmur, and seizures but in the end it was dementia that stole her from us.

We told her we’d give her a “furever home” and we did. She’s now buried in our yard.

Darren, Mr Barkley, Maui and I have a Bella-shaped hole in our hearts.

I’ll be taking a few days off social media while I grieve.

We hope she crossed that rainbow bridge and some of the many puppies she had were waiting for her on the other side.

A sign of a brilliant birthday is I haven’t been on my phone for 24hrs.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes and love. The Shellabration was relaxed, fun and heartfelt.

I arranged a boat for 20 family and 10 friends who live locally (except @jeaninebribosia & @thewinebite who flew in)

My Mum and Aunty Gayle did an outstanding job on the catering. There were even lollie bags!

Dad gave a beautiful speech.

Every one except two newbies (looking at you @drginacleo & Mitch) knew me for 15 years or longer.

Moving back to Queensland has truly felt like coming home. My heart is full.

Darren is an expert at lighting and filming with green screen.

But we have never filmed so many videos in one day.

Massive team effort.

Excellent preparation.

And well deserved champagne at the end!

Today this t-shirt is a LIE!

I hate going to the dentist more than anything in the world.

I’d rather have a colonoscopy than a filling. I wish they would knock me out and wake me up when it’s done.

I’ve had a hole in my back tooth that I have been managing for EIGHT YEARS. Yep they found it before my wedding but I just couldn’t bring myself to get it filled.

Finally it got sensitive enough that I got it fixed today and it was a massive job.

I cried. I am such a baby.

The dentist was lovely and she was a quick as possible.

I’m happy to have Botox needles in my face but there’s something about dentist needles into my gums that puts me over the edge.

Why am I like this?!
